Opened around 8pm the evening prior, double decanted and left in room temperature until service on Friday evening. In total, this was opened 24hours before service. The 1995 pours a beautiful garnet with transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate stating of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with surprisingly boozy dark fruit. Brambles, cassis, bell pepper, licorice, spearmint and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long with great acidity. Overall, remarkably youthful. While it’s certainly ready to go, it will likely continue some positive evolution over the next couple of decades. Drink now with a long decant through 2045.

Lush and open. Balanced with soft edges. This is approachable and delicious.

I absolutely adore where the 1995 Cos D’ Estournel is drinking at this time. Toasty oak and copious dark fruits with earthy tones round out the nose. The palate shows some serious weight and brilliant acidify despite the wine’s age. Black tea, Asian spices, cigar box and creme de cassis with blackberry compote flavors al impress in the glass. A stunning wine now, this has a long life ahead of it. Drink 2019-2045- 95

Purchased on release from #chriscreemw and a pretty much pristine bottle. Deep fruit, lead pencil, great acid, long finish.

Opulent nose of well done toast and cedar, dark fruit. Rich and sexy, so fresh and young, cassis dominant with a light vanilla. Full bodied, perfectly balanced. Years to peak.

This wine is in such a happy place right now it's crazy. I hope it stays here for the next 10-15.
