This is well-done in a Burgundian style. Nose has bright, sappy cherry fruit, a little stemmy in a good way, some very Burgundian wet earth. In the mouth it’s bone dry, with just-ripe cherry and earth flavors initially and then crushed rocks and savory tones carrying it through to the finish, which has a very slight bitter note (it works). Nice acids. Medium body. Tannins are there if you wait and look for them, but they’re close to resolved.

Strawberry fields and stony river beds. An interesting waft.
Light and flavorful, with alpine berries, some pine needle, flint stone vitamins, pomegranate seeds, wrapping up in pixie stix sharp acidity.

Man was this good. Yet no rush to open one. Fruit is still fresh and lively and tannins rustic. Many good years ahead for this bottling. Well done @Loren Grossman!

Pale garnet; medium plus intensity aromas of fresh alpine strawberries, red currant, nectarine, floral perfume, forest floor, delicate vanilla; dry, high acid, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, incredibly perfumed and fresh, well balanced, very good

A Pax Mahle wine. Opened wayyyyyy too early. Rating based on current drinking, because right now this is still tight and tart and acidic. Absolutely gorgeous fruit underneath but even now on night 3 it's just starting to relent. This is a beast that needs a decade to tame.

Pretty solid but seemed a bit soft and sweet next to the Esmonin Gevrey-chambertin

Great expression of Anderson valley--elegant and earthy all wrapped up in red plummy fruit goodness. Excellent choice from one of the best in the business.

There's more than a hint of Beaujolais in this excellent Pinot.
