I liked the 2012 and 2014 better than the 2013. This vintage comes off as a bit too sweet and lacking in complexity compared to the others. Not a bad wine, but not their best effort.

Jan 27th, 2019Having had the ‘12, ‘13, and ‘14 in the last few months, this is my favorite of the trio. Nice mid-weight red with less sweetness than the ‘13 and more freshness than the ‘12. Terrific with food. I’ll be buying a few more.

Sep 12th, 2018Deep garnet, with a slightly shy nose of spice box. Ripe red cherries, tart raspberries, and cranberry sauce are prominent on the palate, followed by warm spice notes of anise and cinnamon, bark, and dried herb. A burst of acidity shows up on the back end and the finish is long, clean, and mildly drying. The is truer to the Italian original than the sweeter ‘13, and is a really nice effort.
