(A solera of Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay, vintages 2008-2012, released 2015)
Understandably misunderstood. This wine—like other oxidized wines such as Vin Jaune, Madeira and Sherry—deserves a day or two in the decanter to really shine.
Notes of caramelized pineapple, finger lime and hazelnut are braced by a minerality that is out of this world. Probably want to sit on this for a few years.
Glad I stocked up when this was released; this is only going to get better, putting on weight and fleshing out even further.

Ok, I love this wine. Not for everyone as attested to by the overall score, but so unique. A multi-vintage solera blend of Heintz Chard. Minerality and a mouthwatering acidity. Did I mention unique? Got better over four nights with air. From Kevin Kelly of Salinia and the Natural Process Alliance (NPA).

As noted by others, this is the Salinia Wine Company Wellspring Solera Chardonnay and not Wellspring Cellars. Five vintage solera of West Sonoma Coast Chard from Heintz Vineyard. As in my previous note, this is a nutty, oxidized, apple, orange gold delight with great acidity. Will not appeal to everyone, but we love it.

Actual wine is Salinia Wine Co. SOLERA WellSpring. This is a beautiful Russian River chardonnay vineyard made from 5 vintages Solera style. Have enjoyed 3 bottles over 18 months & I truly find this to be so unique & special each time I drink it. Enjoyed with friends on my birthday !

This is too good not to have the correct designation. It is the Salinia Wine Company Wellspring Chardonnay Solera out of Sonoma (I think Wellspring Cellars is in Texas). As far as I know, this is a five vintage Solera blend of Chardonnay from Heintz Vineyard near Occidental. Dark gold, nutty sherry notes with great acidity. Love this.

Really interesting. As recommended, will decant and enjoy day 2. Then will let the other bottles sit for a few more years.

Chardonnay made with sherry method - solera system. Murky gold in color, and the signature oxidized nuts and cooked yellow fruit, surprisingly high acidity for a Chardonnay and has quite some weight on the palate, with tad sweet finish. Thanks to the way of its making it will stay lively for some days after it's open. I'd have applaud for its maker for thinking outside of box. An very interesting wine.

Since I don't love Chardonnay; this Solera infusion makes an interesting drink
