Amazing texture. Orange blossom, floral nose. Throbbing with energy, yet utterly precise. Total value - punches above weight class

A not quite dry riesling from Keller. After 5 years this is starting to take on some complexity and has a lovely honey colour. I'm not the biggest fan of kabinett style of riesling but in 5-10 years i think this will be very impressive.

Thought this would be too young and even after decanting this is nowhere near ready. The bare bones of a good wine are there with harmonious acidity and zingy lemon but this is completely missing the complexity that you associate with a Keller wine. Next bottle in 5 years minimum!

Pop and pour. Notes from 45 min open, but will follow for a few days. On the nose: peach, soft rubber, black pepper, sweet citrus, and a hint of petrol. On the palate: excellent acidity, but somehow because of the ripeness of fruit this comes off as slightly less energdtic on the mid than I remember. Sweet apple, citrus, a hint of petrol, and then the energy comes right back for the finish.

It’s National Drink Wine Day and we’re celebrating with a lovely Riesling from Rheinhessen, Germany 🇩🇪

This wine is medium lemon. It has medium(+) intensity of youthful aromas, including, primary notes of melon, pear, apricot, green apple, lemon zest, honeysuckle, jasmine, white blossom, and wet slate. Also delicate notes of petroleum.

On the palate this wine is dry. It has high acidity, a medium body, medium alcohol, and medium(+) intensity in flavor, including, notes of melon, pear, apricot, green apple, lemon zest, honeysuckle, jasmine, white blossom, and wet slate. Long, elegant finish.

This Riesling is outstanding; it offers strong aromatics, complexity, and concentration of aromas and flavors; it is lively and lingers on the palate. It pairs nicely with a grilled pork chop.

Keller Riesling “RR”, vintage 2018, ABV 12%.
