Everyone liked this one better than the Sangiovese but I didn't. It was a little too earthy for me

Awesome wine. If I had tasted this blind I would definitely not have been able to tell you it was from California. Very true to the typical Sangiovese.

A finer example of how sangiovese should taste, a rarity in California

Excellent Sangiovese. Love this grape but don't come across it often. Great acidity and surprisingly ripe fruit - strawberry? A real treat. Would like to try again.

This is what a Sangiovese is supposed to be like--smooth and supple, cherry with a hint of chocolate-covered strawberries on the nose, nice food-friendly acidity on the palate with spices--pepper and rosemary and cherries on the palate. Nice lingering finish.
