Not one of the best that I’ve had. I had to let this one sit over night. It was so earthy I could barely stand it, especially for a Carmenère. Not so bad tonight. blackberry and tea leaves yet still a little earthy on the nose but does have a nice finish.

A good, well balance value Carmenere for the money. If you like zins or hearty cabs, you'll likely enjoy this Carmenere.

This isn't 90 pts based on the fact it's $9, or even 90 pts because it's a value buy. This is flat out a 90pt wine! Complex, earthy, beautiful fruit and the lovelies/clearest example of "red beets" note I've ever tasted

Cool monkey puzzle tree label drew me in. Dark, deep maroon. Blood or bruised plums at sunset. Smells of cigars (not box, actual cigar) and coffee with a hint of mints and red berries. Flavors are more tobacco products and a rich black berry, roasted red pepper streak. Bright and lively in some ways though. This is a great low cost Carmenere. Balanced, big and delicious. And it might even get more exciting and develop some complex subtleties as it get a bit older.

Long, lingering finish. Nicely balanced with good spice notes.

This is a repeat for sure. It’s big but drinkable. Tannins are light but the flavor is robust.
