Comparing this ‘12 against the PH Stagecoach ‘12 was just a spoil of riches. Very different wines in flavor profile, but very similar in texture. Whereas the PH was very dark fruit dominant with mineral notes, this was more finesse driven showing bright black cherries, mocha, cherries jubilee sweetness and some sandalwood on the nose. So well balanced on the palate with more sweet red fruit and Andes mint chocolate mint at the finish.

Incredible wine which has significantly improved since last tasting. Dark red fruits, chocolate, baking spice, vanilla, a touch of menthol. Incredibly smooth and integrated tannins. Medium long finish. Wow.

Margaritas with chips & salsa pregame? - yes! Wood fired delicacies and charcuterie at Maple & Ash accompanied with a spectacular VHR vintage (2012) at a VHR tasting. Solid Thursday.

A wine that I brought tonight and felt strongly about. Incredible pedigree, winemaker is from Araujo which is insane great! Beautiful 12 but I committed infanticide., should laid it down another few years but it did open up like a million bucks after a few hours. Truly opulent Napa wine which is well structured and loved by all tonight. A new rockstar on the block vs the the old rock stars that were drinking in full stride tonight. It's was awesome tonight but I can't wait for it to evolve a little and become STELLAR in the future. I highly recommend this wine. The preliminary rating is 96 to 98 and the 13 is even better if you can imagine that!

Mostly cherries on the nose with a hint of menthol - cassis and berries were predominant on the palate with some vanilla from the oak. Pretty smooth but The tannins are very present so a good decant is necessary at this stage. As the night went on it got better and better. I actually preferred the '11...while very good this still needs some time.
