Popped...ahem...unscrewed and poured. Surprisingly fresh-ish aromas of dark fruits, lavender, meat. Secondary characteristics of leather and mushrooms starting to show through. Alcohol shows through but not too distracting. This is holding up surprisingly well. Still lots of fruit on the palate. Blackberry liqueur, herbs and leather. Finish is long but a little hot. Drink now.

A bit hot, slightly fat on the palate, but the nose is pretty good - dark cherries, roasted meats

Smoky high tones, a little hot on the palate, less friendly with food than expected as the other Villa Creek wines
