Screaming old school nose. Wild, deep mint. Chestnut. Cinnamon. Clove. Pine needles. Dry leaves. So complex. Tar, tobacco. Even some tomaco. So nuanced. So pretty. Mid to late season dark cherry fruit. This nose is killing it tonight. 9.6 nose. Palate comes in young but so linear and precise. Awesome sweet cherry fruit and just super refined tannins. Lovely length and purity. Even better than 2013. This is so fine. Really stunned by this. Superb structure and sappiness. Will be better in 10-15 years. This is for the long haul. This will drink well young due to the enormity of the fruit.

What an aroma. Tar, dried dark roses, huge minerals and earth. Wet leaves. Burgundian. Chestnut. So aromatic. No fruit but it comes. Palate is mega juicy and deep. Beautiful pure dark cherry fruit and terrific sap and energy. Does close down on the finish. But so pure with a hit of opulence and unreal roundness. Awesome. Balanced and so much fruit. But structured and built for the long haul.

Okay this is awesome. Old school. Cigar, Cuban tobacco, chestnut, tar, dead roses, so so so Nebbiolo. The high toned aromas are just stunning. Really wafts. It’s old school but super clean. Pop and pour and the aromas just kill! Wow. Wow. Palate is just gorgeous. Astonishing purity and freshness and oodles of mid season ripe cherries and wonderful opulence. Superb juiciness. Like 10/10 juiciness. Lovely velvety tannins and such a long juicy finish. So so pure. This is a freakshow.

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
(Notes this year were avoided, but scores are honest.)

I didn’t get to this yesterday as Father’s Day was a blur. But… thankfully some was left for the second day.
Smells like old school leather & tar, candied roses on top.
The palate still has lots of life, grippy but not overwhelming, dark fruited, cherry skin, bark, trees.I’m glad I have more to watch a bit more carefully.
Thanks@FassSelections.

Nose is lovely pink roses. As it opens its integrated with gorgeous old sweet wood. The roses are more intense. Penetrating. Stunning. Am hour in just dusty gorgeous roses.

Palate is bright delicious early season cherries. Wow. As it opens such sweet cherry - you can see the after effects of barrel age. That subtle roundness.

As it open further the palate is perfect sweet cherry. Absolutely delicious. That elegant licorice. Wow. $100+ in barolo. At least. You have to be mad not to be drinking alto Piemonte wines.

It tastes old. Old and beautiful. My god. What an experience for $40ish.
