Dark but see through. Kinda a classic Zinfandel color. Smells lovely. Red fruits, sun-baked soils, blackberry jam on the stove, leather, dried fruits. It’s pretty much a spot on Zin nose. Flavors are very much preserves and jam, but balanced. Lots of zippy acid too. It’s not sweet. It just tastes a lot like cooked fruits. But it also has tannins. Plethora of chewy tannins. Something fresh in there too. Green leaves. This is nice, well made wine from a gem of a family Mom-&-Pop winery in Martinez, CA amongst the refineries.
