This is a unique and very good wine. From 100 year old vines at high elevation in Mendocino, it is loaded with zesty, acidic (in a great way) dark fruit. It’s wonderful deep berry nose didn’t convert in the mouth at first, but with a bit of air, the fruit, and some light tannins came out, maybe even a hint of the pines surrounding the vineyard. Plenty of room to run on this great but far-from-typical Zin.
