Deep inky in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, dried figs, smoke, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, alcohol, cola, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, vegetables and black pepper.

Full bodied rich and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked strawberries, spices, pencil lead, black pepper, leather, licorice, vanilla, vegetables, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and spices.

Long finish with firm, green tannins and cherries.

This Petite Sirah from Russian River Valley, is drinking very nicely. Big, opulent and jammy. Nicely balanced with mild complexity. A little bitter and green on the palate. A year or two in the bottle won't hurt.

Drinkable by itself, and needs an hour to open up properly.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

Inky purple is n color. Nose of nice dark chocolate, peppery, sugar plum, tobacco leaves, and some nice hint of spicy oak note. Taste is a nice mix of sweetness from sugar plum and cherry, rift amount of zest, noticeable tannins, some menthol, some place pepper, chewy, and silky. Aftertaste is nice zest mixed with residual sweetness and pepper note. Wow, this is really nice with her price tag. In fact, if you want to learn about petit Syrah and price concerned, this is your bottle.

When he's right he's right. Two was not enough. Should have a few on hand for a while!

Case alert. Potentially the best tj reserve I've tasted. Cocoa powder, eucalyptus, and black tea on the nose. Plum and blackberry and loads of earth and tannin on the palette. Clean, but complex finish of pipe tobacco and violets. Definitely a food wine. Fantastic.
