Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese

Pale garnet with a med+ nose. Medicinal, tobacco, mint, red currant, wet leaves, pomegranate, liquorice, dried cherries, vanilla and liquorice. Med+ acidity, med+ tannins and a long finish. Outstanding! I almost would have guessed Nebbiolo instead of Nerrello.

Solid, light and easy to drink. Looks like raspberry Kool Aid in the glass.

Slightly cooled this Etna Rosso drinks remarkably well. Refreshing with great grip en a spicy pallet.

Elegant and light, dry mineral, easy to sip on its own and works well with lighter meat and even fish. Very nice alternative to a light pinot noir.

Nice blend. Paired well credited, hummus and meantballs

Thin but nice. Currant on the nose but really light on the palate. There is an upfront astringency that dissipates with aerating.

This is a very unique wine from Sicily. I wouldn’t drink it frequently (too light), but really pleasant for an occasional something different.
