11yr old Aussie Mataro. Needed 30min or so to start to open up, but once it did, expressed beautiful fruit with the beginnings of secondary caramel character. Very cool!

Definitely needs time. A bit brash and brambly and showing characteristics more suited to blending than as a single varietal. I can see how this would add some complexity to a Rhone style blend. Interesting nonetheless.
