A very pretty ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.

On the nose, sour cherries, strawberries, red currants, oak, smoke, light vanilla, graphite, black pepper and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry and tart on the attack with strawberries, cranberries, raspberries, vanilla, licorice, oak, spices and peppercorn.

Medium finish with soft tannins and spices.

This spicy red blend from California is drinkable, but unbalanced and simple, without enough structure.

Not one to have by all by itself, but rather a good food wine. Good right out of the bottle and good for parties.
Shows a little funky taste at the ending.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses.

Grapes were hand picked and aged in French oak barrels.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

Medium ruby red. A touch savory on the nose with a touch of greenery. Jammy too with tight dark berries and a little bit of cinnamon and vanilla. Moderate tannins (5/10) and low plus to medium bodied. Jammy on the palate with bramble berries and packed with black cherries. A touch perfumey too. A little metallic in the medium finish. Drink till 2019.

A hearty red full of exotic, brooding flavors: blackcurrant, peat, hung game. Surprisingly mild tannins, refreshing acidity and rather medium body in feel for a 14.2% alcohol wine.

Disappointed: guy @ wine shop really talked this up, but I found it - like many others from CA - one dimensional, overly fruit focused & flabby. The finish was ever so brief and it never evolved on the glass.

I'm not sure there is a better red wine you could buy for the money for eating with red meat. Drink it at room temp whatever you do. It's still Cali and it's still decently spicy cab.
