You can take the girl out of New Zealand but you can’t take the NZ wine out of her glass 😜

This was a total comfort night in (well pretty much every night is like this these days - thanks COVID!). I made a Leek, Bacon and Winter Greens Risotto from the Dish Magazine and teamed it up with a bottle of The Ned by Marisco 2019 Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand.

The recipe called for 1/2 cup of white wine so naturally we had to finish the bottle off with dinner. And it was actually a banging match too! So yummy!

The wine is nearly lemongrass like in colour with vibrant passionfruit, gooseberry, white peach and kaffir line scents rising up from the glass. In the mouth it’s juicy and thirst-quenching. The acidity cut through the creamy risotto perfectly 👌

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Zingy tropical citrusy with good length. My favourite Sauvignon Blanc so far and excellent for the price as would pay more.

Nice and light. With a tart finish. Passion fruit flavorings. For 9.95 at LAWC it’s a great deal. Would definitely get again.

Down in Bath with Amalia, after a nice curry. Very sweet but easy to drink and pretty good price.
