Carusu Etna Rosso Nerello Blend

Etna on drugs. Lacks authenticity. I can see people liking it, but to me... money down the drain.

2011 - great development in the glass with perfumed iron ore notes and flighty red berry fruit. Taught and quite stalky in the mouth but also vibrant with a decent bitter cherry and smoky red currant fruit.

熟成香まではいかないまでも、少し熟成したニュアンスを感じる。
ミネラル感やタンニンのカリカリした感じはなくて柔らかで甘やかだけど、綺麗さもあって上品なワイン。

Red blend of Nerello Mascalese (80%) and Nerello Cappuccio (20%). Aromas of strawberry, cranberry and smoke. The palate is red berry fruit driven with additional flavors of plum and cherry. Hint of white pepper on the finish. Round but soft tannins. Simple wine, but well crafted.

Chewy, gravelly, earthy. I like the style but needs a bit more depth and nuance.

It is a bit hot. But a solid wine with Neapolitan pizza and pasta. Slightly spicy and earthy. Medium bodied.

Nerello Mascalese w/ 20% Nerello Cappuccio. Tar, leather, dried and stewed fruits. This on is for Barolo nuts.
