Fared well against a Groth and Cyrus. Nice dark fruit, mocha, some vegetal. Integrated tannins. Drinking at the right time. Nice.

The view at Rutherford Hill was nice

2001 vintage. Ambitious and made in the bolder style, so fashionable back then. Very good wine, and it has held up nicely. Memorable? Nope.

Strong, Cabernet-driven Bordeaux blend. Nothing like a Bordeaux, this wine is a California Cabernet with some other grapes to smooth it out. Sweet Cabernet to start followed by a smooth and elegant finish. I prefer Bordeaux but this is an excellent California bold Cabernet.

A good wine, but a bit tame … I expected more. The flavor profile evolved over time and gave rise to nice dark berry flavors. Good wine that is not worth it’s list price

Fantastic cab and really nice age probably right around the time you can start drinking something this big and powerful
