Nobody makes wines like this in the US. A 50-50 Cab-Merlot blend at 12.5% alcohol with no new oak? Yes, please. Great balance of spice, fruit and earth and very friendly to my plate of hen of the woods mushrooms with lardo.

Tuscany travel research (however this selection is from Roma). Underwhelming 2012 selection. Mild acidity, some tannins. Lacked complexity expected from this Bordeaux varietal blend.

Wow. Remarkably good. This is an Italian 'traitor' -- Merlot/Cab. I vote for variety neutrality. These Italians worked wonders with French grapes!
