A big thank you to Taylor’s for sending over this tasty bottle and some Grand Cru Cuvee Chocolate (chocolate made specifically to match wine) to help celebrate Cabernet Day 2022 last month 🥳

It’s a juicy garnet shade in the glass with alluring hints of oak, blackberry, cigar box and cherry on the nose. On the palate it’s full of flavour and depth with a delectable long finish. An epic match for the dark chocolate 😋

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

A big thank you to Taylors Wines for sending over some of their new half-sized bottles of the award-winning Jaraman range.

This 375ml bottle of the Taylors Jaraman 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes from both the Clare Valley and Coonawarra regions. The mini bottle retails for $20.

It was perfect for a big week tipple for Mr Spittoon and myself when we just wanted a glass each to end the day.

The wine is an inky red black colour in the glass. Black fruit and berries alongside whiffs of mocha and mint rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s full of juicy fruits with a savoury backbone. Full bodied, well balanced and darn gluggable.

Strong notes of Eucalypt even though 64/36 blend Coonawarra/Clare Valley. Medium weight. Drinks to its price point of $26. Drink last one in 1-2 years. Ended up drinking the last one 34 weeks later on 24th May and it showed very well. Great value for money. Would now give it 91 points.

Taylors commercial effort 2009 vintage. First impressions are not typically Cabernet except for the nose, excessive sweetness in a crowd pleasing style. Only an ok wine. Next soon. 16.

Deep red, inky Cab with ripe cherry, mint, cedar, glycerine notes. Rich tannins that soften after 20 minutes in the decanter bringing the rich fruit forward. Full on the palate, yet soft and long finish. This gem is ready to drink ... but maybe is evolves to a bit more softness in a year? I am saving one to find out!

16+/20 (89+/100) Аромат жимолости, настойки женьшеня, чёрной смородины и шоколада. Тельное с довольно высокой кислотностью и интенсивными, грубыми танинами. Молодо, следует подождать как минимум 5 лет.
