On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading just one wonderful piece, MAHLER (Symphony No. 3), accompanied with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

We're revisiting some producer bottles from our late Spring France vacation earlier this year.

Pinot Noir biased on the nose and palate. Chalky limestone notes persist on the nose, followed by red fruits grated into the same mineral. Palate has bright red fruits with mineral dust, medium finish. Not as good as getting to enjoy it in the private tasting room at the Taittinger cellar, but close tonight.

Photos of one of the Comtes cellar areas, Methuselah's of Brut Reserve where some enthusiast has expressed their love of that wine and our bottle of the evening.

A dangerously tasty Brut Rosé, the Pinot fruit sings! This is what summer will taste like at our house this year, and likely many years into the future. The Pinot and Chardonnay are perfectly matched, slightly tart, even a light saline note on the finish.

Photos of the hand chiseled chalk cellar walls dating back to the 1300's and some of the artistry that exists throughout the cellars, in both small and large formats.

Prestige Rosé stands out for its intense hue whose secret lies in the fact that it is a blend, complex & costly to produce. The blend, 15% of the best Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims & Les Riceys added to the final blend, giving this cuvée its unique color & intensity. The wine contains Chardonnay (30%) completing the blend bringing elegance to Taittinger’s signature style. Red fruit aromas with strawberry and cherry flavors, elegant, long finish ending with chalky minerality and slight yeasty notes.

Fuller style rosé champagne. Toasty roasted nuts upfront, full red fruit preserves follow. Round creamy mouthfeel, bubble structure is tight, acidity is bright. Solid, makes folding laundry a pleasure...
