Wow. Just wow. This is one special wine!

Introducing the Tahbilk 2014 1927 Vines Marsanne. If you haven’t tried a Marsanne from Tahbilk, you need to! And this my friends, crafted from nearly 100 year old vines is pretty darn special. In fact it was not released until it achieved a wine trophy.

Tahbilk in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central Victoria are celebrating their 160th anniversary and this new release is part of their icon range. Currently it’s only available to wine club members and from the cellar door for $46.30.

A big thanks to Tahbilk for inviting me to taste this wine. It’s absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every last drop!

In the glass it’s a pale lemon colour. On the nose I pick up notes of honeysuckle, spiced pear, citrus peel and it has a mineral chalkiness to it. In the mouth it’s super refreshing and perfectly balanced with a lemon and lime saltiness to it alongside a hint of nuts and nashi pears. This would be one of the standout white wines I’ve tasted this year. Yum!

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
