Sven Klundt
Kastanienbusch Pinot Noir
Nose has sweet mashed cherry, cedar plank, cut strawberry, touch of alcohol heat and dried blackberry.
Palate has ripe black cherry, sweet earthy traits, dry minerals, ripe blackberry with medium finish. Very smooth but seems to be short of depth, not fully representative of prior bottles. Hopefully this just needs more time to come back together.
Decanted ~3h, paired to grilled pork tenderloin with grilled baby fennel and apples, a soild dinner companion.

Stunning showing. Insanely complex perfume of a nose. Spice, sweet cherry fruit, black tea, so complex and alluring. Palate is sweet, silky and so textured. Remarkable ripeness and sweetness. So dazzlingly pure and an almost gossamer silken like finish. Remarkable.

Apr 29th, 2019Advanced, light color. Fragrant, with loads of bright, cracked stone minerality and sweet-tart cherry fruit, along with a note of moist humus. Lean but cleansing in the mouth. Perhaps starting to dry out a bit. Drink up, preferably with food. I had it with a light chicken and artichoke gratin.

When you have a birthday party for a 2 year old, the adults need to drink better than juice boxes...
Wicked strawberry, cherry, plus cedar, very fun, enjoyed by all!

Nose is dark plum, plum skin and plum flower. Really pretty. Some earth.
Palate is soft plum with some spice. Delicious. Fresh. Juicy finish. Hint of licorice silky plum finish.
Perks up at 45 minutes surprisingly. I can’t decide if this is merely very tasty or interesting. ... I guess that makes it interesting.
Bought from fass selections.

A very interesting wine. Definitely spatburgunder from a flavor profile. But classic burgundy from a style profile. Very elegant and balanced. Sort of a soft early season cherry fruit. It has acidic balance but much less pronounced than most fass wine on the attack. May be the vintage. More on the finish which is sprightly. Long and elegant with cherry perfume. ... as this aerates it has this wackily gorgeous cherry flower thing going on. In 3 years this could drink like a $150 wine. Which makes sense as it’s grand cru terroir even if it cost $30 or so. Finish is sweet cherry licorice. WOW. Approaching top 10 lifetime qpr. So elegant. ... as this evolves it’s so delicious in a unique way.
