Pale lemon. Pronounced primary aromas of citrus fruits (lime, grapefruit) green fruit (green apple) and passion fruit. Also elderflower and gooseberries. Fresh cut grass and green peppers. Grapefruit takes the primary aroma. On the palate it's dry with a petillance texture (strange for 2015, but it is screwcap) amazingly lively for being in bottle for 1,5 years. More of that citrus fruit (grapefruit, lime peel, lemon peel and kiwi) on the palate. Medium+ acidity and medium+ alcohol (13,5 and you can feel it, perhaps the only thing making it seem Californian). Medium body, medium+ intensity of flavors. Medium+ finish.

Drinking this in Kauai is perfect. You can’t tell where the smells of Kauai cut grass, rain, and flowers end and this wine begins. Grapefruit, lychee, grass, papaya, some tart green apple underneath, but wow does this taste more tropical on the island. This always reminds me of the beach in SB but now will transport me to the garden isle as well.

This bottle is wonderful. Grapefruit everywhere, wet grass, salty seashore/shells, opens with more tropical flavors coming forward with the grapefruit. A perfect warm day wine.
