Bear Point Alexander Mountain Estate Chardonnay

Really oaky. Vanilla beans all day.

Light gold in color with a slight greenish hue. Awesome nose filled with butter, cream, oak, and caramel. Flavor doesn't resemble the nose at all. Bitter, tart, with lots of funk. Wine could be over the hill, but I doubt it. Something just doesn't seem right.

Lemongrass and ginger on the nose, but the flavor is much earthier than those aromas would leave you to believe. White beans, asparagus, red potatoes, and pear on the palate. Very nice but somewhat light and not as complex as I had hoped. A lot of sediment, which was surprising.

Very interesting, earthy nose. I can't put my finger on it, but it's like fresh vegetables and potatoes or something straight out of the ground. Not much flavor wise, although there is a little bite on the tail end which seems out of place. Not sure what to make of this, maybe poor food pairing?!....Got it! White beans! No clue why this bottle is so different from the one I had almost exactly a year ago!

Great wine!! Deep, powerful nose that opens up strong flavors of apple, caramel, and pear. A little too acidic, but lingers on the palate quite nicely. Glad I have 3 more bottles!!
