Stadtkellerei IMI. First German urban winery in the making. Urban as in grapes are picked in the Pfalz region and brought to Cologne, around 200km further away. This Syrah has been made at the place of the grapes origin, from 2016 the new winery in Köln should be ready.
Blueberry juice with some violets and cocoa. Some cherries and cedars too. Smooth and silky. Light RS and light bitter giving impression of dark choc. Light peppery blueberry skin aftertaste.
Didn't remind me of a Syrah but of a nice easy drinking German frühburgunder or Pinot noir Precoce.
