Happy Valentine’s Day! We’re celebrating with a beautiful Soter Pinot Noir hailing from the Mineral Springs Ranch Vineyard within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA (Willamette Valley, Oregon), which is farmed organically and biodynamically.
It has a bright ruby hue. On the nose and palate, primary notes of ripe cherry, crushed pomegranate, black currant, wild strawberry and raspberry abound, followed by notes of cola, rose, violet, licorice, anise and secondary notes of vanilla bean, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove and tertiary notes of earth and morel mushroom.
This wine is a young adult — delightful and interesting — with runway for further aging, given its current balance of fruit concentration, alcohol (13.8%), vibrant acidity, and fine-grain tannins. It offers complexity across tiers of aromas and flavors, from fruit to French oak influence, to tertiary characteristics (not necessarily due to age). It’s excellent. Cheers!

This biodynamic wine is concentrated, complex, has good intensity, is well-balanced, and has a long, elegant finish. I could sip this beauty all night.
