Fairly simple label and bottle. ‘Nothing to see here, just a plain ole Sonoma Zin’ is the vibe. Color is good: Ruby, garnet. Smells of Old Spice and Indian curry in a good way. Also soil and bakers chocolate. Hint of berries, but it’s not pronounced. Flavors are lovely and very restrained for CA Zin. Wet rocks meet chocolate mints. Forest berries (salmon, thimble and red huckle) and tart currant syrups. Bit of soft peppery bite (say roasted red jimmy nordelo). Juicy. Chewy. And quite tasty! The horehound, cherry, fancy red licorice mix lingers long and delightfully.
