Small winery, managed by Doug Shafer. Blend of 90% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot & 3% Malbec, aged, 20 months, 100% new French oak. Beautiful fruit & floral aromas, hints of savory spice. On the palate cherry & raspberry flavors with oak structure adding pepper, licorice & cacao. Firm tannins, approachable now, long ending with fruit & mineral edge. Had this about 2+ years ago, nice now but more cellaring will only benefit this beauty, if you can resist the temptation. Very Nice!

Sipping Fine Wine

The small winery is managed by father/son team John & Doug Shafer. A blend of 90% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot & 3% Malbec, aged, 20 months, 100% new French oak. Beautiful fruit & floral aromas with hints of savory spice. On the palate cherry & raspberry flavors with a tight oak structure adding pepper, licorice & dusty cacao. Firm tight tannins, needs decanting now, lingering ending with fruit & slight mineral edge. Good now but 5 years of cellar rest with make wine pop! Had this with a Holiday Filet Mignon. Nice!

Really nice one. Rich and elegant. Black and bramble fruit. Cocoa. Full bodied wine with silky tannins.

When Friday night starts right. Patio, Shake Shake, and a nice Cab. Deep dark color. Nice complexity. Expressive nose. Blue and black fruit, and a little cinnamon. Plush mouthfeel. Lengthy finish. No complaints here.

Color of dark ruby-purple, with a nose of blackberry jam, vanilla, and sawdust. Full-bodied with amazing balance. Nice smooth finish. Tannins are there, and grippy. This is a really nice wine. With the tannin structure and fruit in place, I could see this aging for years to come.
