2009 mourvedre from Paso Robles and I'm in love. The nose is everything I want in a red wine: juicy red berries, candied rose petals to add elegance, and a green note that makes me think of whole stem inclusion. The palate is spicy without overwhelming, juicy to the gills and still has a silky elegance to it. This does nothing to dispel my belief that mourvedre is the best grape no one drinks.
