Intense dark fruit. Rich blackberry/fig hidden under alc aromas. Plush attack that lacks definition and mid palate at first. Cigar, tar finish. Good length, though driven by tannin and extraction.

The color is deep purple magenta with signs of some bricking on the edges. Nose - a bit restricted with notes of brambly red berries, herbs, wet soil and graphite followed by floral scents. Taste - juicy, silky and soft. Well structured and layered. Red -plum and dark chocolate dominate with secondary notes of cedar, dry herbs, spice and espresso giving this wine a long soft finish. Luv it!

1st wine of the new year and had to open something fun. Of course, enjoyed with its classic pairing of chicken wings 😉

1.5 hour decant(minimal fine/cloudy sediment). A stunning dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: brambly red berries, herbaceous, wet forest floor, graphite, floral. Taste: silky, soft, juicy, layered beautiful mouthfeel wine with red plum, dark chocolate, dried herbs, touch of spice and a cedar espresso captivating long finish. YUM!

The baby eagle flies again in Napa

1 hour decant (min sediment). A regal dark purplish crimson color. On the nose: red berries, chocolate, metallic, spice, and dried herbs. Taste: smooth, elegant, layered medium plus body wine with creme de cassis, graphite, plum, dark chocolate espresso. and a vanilla cedar long finish. YUM, drinks well, but no hurry...plenty of time.

Polished off the 08 Marcassin, knocked back the 1990 Margaux, final b-day bottle to quaff down is a 2012 Screaming Eagle 2nd Flight and cake.

1 hour decant(surprisingly little sediment). A bewitching inky dark red wine with little signs of aging. On the nose: Jumping from the glass are cherries, semi sweet chocolate, cedar, metallic, dried herbs, vanilla wafers. Taste: A rich, lush mouthfeel with cherries and more cherries, pencil lead, pepper, charcoal, and a bitter sweet chocolate cedar long finish....drinking well, but I imagine better things with even more time!

Sensational. Traditional Napa cab characteristics but turn it up 1000x. Finish lasted a solid 2min

Drank beautifully! Fruit-forward backbone of cherries and black fruit without the chewiness, lending a smooth mouthfeel.

This might have been my favorite wine of the night. Just lovely Napa flavors at their best. Terrific complexity and intensity while maintaining exquisite balance. I think this has the stuffing to age many more years.
