Six different grapes in this one 30% mourvedre, 22% zin, 13% syrah, 13% tempranillo, 12% grenache, and 10% petite sirah). It’s Saxum so it’s awesome by definition, but what blew me away was that it was pretty aproachable right away…but was still drinking great after we set a little aside in the fridge for 5 days! Don’t know how Justin does it, but I’m glad he does!

This is rich and full bodied with lots of blackberries and blueberries.. some meat juice and pepper give it a hint of savoriness but the fruit dominates! Excellent wine by Saxum and drinking beautifully now!!

Oct 11th, 2020Actually a Mourvedre-heavy blend, this is one of the more interesting blends from Saxum that I’ve had in a while. 30% Mourvedre, 22% Zin, 13% Syrah, 13% Tempranillo, 12% Grenache, and 10% Petite Sirah, this wine is really cool. Complex berry profile across the palate with a rich mouthfeel, this is a great one to drink now or leave for a few years to see how it develops. Very cool.

Fantastic! Decanted for 45 min. Intense black and blue fruit aromas that give a big hint at the massive wine that is about to be drank. Massive dark fruit, smoke, allspice, and tobacco. Finish just goes on and on and on.....
Perfectly paired for rib night on vacation.
No rush to drink.

Smokey blackberry aromas.
Big dark fruits, Smokey, and chewy tannins still. A super long finish....
Right now it's a 9.2 but potential is a few points higher in 5 yrs or so.
