Dark and inky body. Purple rim. Cherries, oak, spice and dark fruit on the intense nose. Full body, with chewy tannins. Long finish.

Stunning. This vintage is one of Justin’s more complex blends - 42% grenache, 24% mourvedre, 21% syrah, 8% cunoise, and 5% roussanne - but it is so well integrated. Brilliant aromatics that combine white flowers, violet, and dark berries all at once, the palate is seamless, transitioning from bright on the front end to a deep, evolving wine through the finish. This has many years of development ahead of it, and while it’s still young right now, it is amazing once you let it open up in the glass. Awesome.

2014 opened up after 30 minutes and just destroyed all Paso benchmarks. I highly recommend being a heathen and drinking this ASAP to get the full rush of dark fruits, Kirsch, and lovely blueberry fruit on the front palate. Nothing better out of Paso.
