Beautiful 20 year old Oregon Pinot. Opened, re-corked, then enjoyed an hour later over the next 6 hours. Slightly clunky at first but expressed good integration after the first hour. Evolved gradually and subtly. Dried strawberries gave way to raspberry preserves and then sour cherry. Medicinal and sage notes gave way to lavender and rose then cigar/cigar box then smoky bacon and finally black tea. No real awkward phases. Likely drinking at or near peak now.

Enjoyed a lot. Light bodied, subtle floral notes followed by blueberries and clean finish. Holds a nice level of acidity but seems it shows the sign of fading within couple of years.

It took awhile to open up.. after about an hour it got a little funk on the nose. Smelled like a damp barn.. the palate seems like it’s one verge of moving from fruit to a mineral earthy flavors.

Got much better than first tasting. Smooth, lighter to medium body, a bit higher alcohol than previous wine
