#AgedWineTuesday!

Brownish in color with a wide brick rim.

Light nose of blueberries, raspberries, light oak, earth, wet leaves, blood, herbs, black pepper, iron, licorice and spices.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, licorice, light oak, earth, wet leaves, vegetables and black pepper.

Long finish with big tannins, yet fine, and tangy cranberries.

This is a nice surprise. This 16 year old is drinking very nicely now, and has at least 10 years in it.

Showing nice complexity with a nice, soft mouthfeel. The nose is strong and smells like blood, which is interesting.

I loved the intensity of the mouthfeel, but I expected more complexity at this age.

Always interesting to try these kind of wines. Thank you Sean for sharing this with me.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the complexity.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

14% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$50 (current vintage).

This wine was brick red with an orange rim. The nose was tar all the way. The wine still had plenty of youth however the raisin and earth flavors dominated. The tannins still had tons of grip. Great wine.
