The 14 Riesling is made in a dry semi-sweet style. It spends 12 weeks on it's primary lees. On the nose, a slight petrol quality, citrus, melon, tropicals, stone fruits and yellow & white florals. On the palate; leaner body, grapefruit, lemon, lime, melon, white peach, nectarines, cream, fine grainy minerals, fruit blossoms, perfect acidity and a well polished long finish. Photos of a section of the soil structure of this vineyard and the need to net the vines from the birds. Netting is common throughout New Zealand as the birds would eat 50% or more of the fruit.

new zealand riesling from central otago. this is such a fun bottle.

super cloudy in the glass, dark and musty for a white wine. the bouquet is extraordinary. petrol, chamomile, melon, lemon rind. a really stunning nose that grows and grows on you

dry. the palate is a heavy dose of lemon rind with some mineral. very austere, but a magical long finish like a limoncello shot. one of the more memorable rieslings i’ve tried.

Not my favorite riesling but still good, fairly dry with a hint of fruitiness
