Round five of blind tasting and we all missed on this. I think a Zinfandel blend is cruel. I swore this was a Sonoma Cab… all those blended varieties proved tricky and the Zinfandel doesn’t stand out on its own. Dark ruby red with dark over ripened and jammy fruits. Smells hot. Also VANILLA. Say that five times. Has some nice bell pepper and green notes, some eucalyptus, balsamic, and a touch of mint. Low tannic levels, moderate acid and body. It’s delicious but tripped us up.

The 2019 Three Valleys is a supple, easygoing Zinfandel-based red to drink now and over the next few years, while the flavors remain bright and punchy. Bright floral accents perk up the red Zinfandel fruit nicely. The Three Valleys will make a great house pour. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022)

@Austin Hohnke said it well. It’s good. Still too oaky for us, but a good vintage. Total Coppertone.

Juicy, brambly, and richly-fruited, with a healthy dose of American oak. At $25, totally slaps.

Delicious but a little too much American oak day 1. Day 2 should be better.

Always solid, never disappoints.

17’ shows a cedar nose,
And the first hint of blackberry, tarragon, eucalyptus. The second hint, which is eucalyptus, comes in strong and stays for quite awhile, mingled with a bit of coffee and Woody tannins.
Really needs at least 5 years, especially with these last few hot years in the valley..

Young, untamed, and hopeful. Like me in the 90's only age worthy.

Awesome as always! Not overly extracted with good fruit showing through on the nose and palette with a hint of earth and minerality. One of our favorite go-to wines that is consistently good. :-)
