Nice powerful nose. Palate isn’t aligned - unusual for Ridge. Finishes slightly disjointed and somewhat tart.

Extraordinarily pronounced new American oak on the nose, but the palate of far more subtle. Oak quickly dissipates to show mulling spices, leather, rubber, peppercorn, soil, orange-crusted clove....I could go on forever. This is a fascinating wine. So glad I have 2 more bottles.

Actually this is 100% Petite Sirah from the Dry Creek Valley AVA in Sonoma County. Purple colour. Intense nose with black fruits, oak and an unattractive medicinal touch. Powerful, very spicy, fruit overwhelmed by tannic structure and very astringent finish. This seems overextracted and overoaked. Not to mention overpriced.Very disappointing. Can't drink this. 2014 vintage. abv. 13,9%. 38 euro.
