Jul 25th, 2021Beautiful Pinot Noir - Blaufrankisch blend from Ravines, my favorite producer in the Finger Lakes. This wine started off with a funky barnyard nose, possibly evidence of some brettanomyces. Once that blew off, the wine developed nicely with notes of tart cherry, cranberry and freshly picked blackberries. Notes of cedar and baking spices were evident as well, but they were well integrated. This is a single straight forward red blend from the FLX, but absolutely delicious.
Acid - medium high
Body - medium
Tannin - medium
Finish - medium plus
