Beautifully balanced Zin (depicted with my dog Zinny). Fragrant, but in a laid back way, with classic scents of spicy ripe blackberry along with almost Australian warm sandstoney scents. Large framed in the mouth, with rich flavors, peppery heat, and very good acids playing off one another. 130 year old vines. History!

Beautiful Zin that keeps evolving in the glass. Perfumey nose of ripe, tangy mixed berries and warm gravel, with notes of fresh mint and dried tobacco leaves. Compact and intense in the mouth. Dense, lively dark berries, with a mineral streak. Good acids, full body/alc., and lots of tannin provide a solid skeleton. Tremendous length. This is great now and will age well for several years. $35 from wtso.com.

More finesse than you'd expect from Old Hill but still delicious and one of the best 2011 Zins tasted so far.

Lovely dark red color with aromas of black raspberries. In the mouth incredible intense red fruits with lingering aftertaste. Tannin is integrated with the fruit. Wonderful wine!!

Back to what I know... I learned all about Zins from my dear brother @Matt Roebuck . I finally got him on Delectable. @Bill Bender check out my brother Matt. He's about to take his Sommelier 1 and 2 , he's been in the trenches for years. Best palate at least in Orlando if not in Fl.

Spectacular zin. Blueberry chocolate and vanilla, but tempered by tobacco and leather. Medium acidity and lively grippy tannins.
