Quite a whiff of American oak at first but it largely blew off. Lush and supple, dark berry jam, mesquite, eucalyptus. Very drinkable but not sure this is more interesting now vs 10 years ago

Black cherries. Thick and syrupy. Surprised that this wasn't austere and restrained. No knock on it. It is yummy and will go nicely with our slow roasted pork tonight.
