Rich and complex but noticeably more complex and interesting closer to room temp when it when shows a tangerine peel element than makes me think, now, of Persian chicken and rice dishes as a perfect accompaniment.

Fantastic wine. Nose has a lot going on. Ripe pear, cold butter, lanolin, wet stones with algae clinging from them plucked from a (non polluted) river. Rich and large-framed in the mouth. A nice bitter note builds, along with a nice bit of acidity, in the very long finish. I popped it with pasta carbonara, and it was magical.

What a spectacular alternative to Chardonnay. Not a stand in for Chave Hermitage Blanc, but, generous, focused, subtle and layered a great example of new world wine focused on less familiar varieties.

Chablis-like acidity with grilled peach and pineapple flavors. I’m detecting it wasn’t an easy vintage for the winemaker but I like its savory character.
