Incredible wine.

This was my first experience with whole clusters. I think
@Mike Smith has excelled here. There is a lovely balance between fruit and savory notes.

The wine is deep purple in the glass. Lovely mixed notes on the nose that suggest the palate. There is a minerality here that is wonderful along with dark fruit. The palate continues the same line with tomato stem mixed in with slightly underripe blackberry resulting in a great balance. Tannins are fine and smooth. Great finish.

Very well done. Nose is compressed and somewhat subdued. Rich dark fruits come forward after a while.
Nice balance on the palette, with a great tannic structure and complimentary acidity. Lovely balance, and rock-solid on day two. Suggested by my friend
@TheSkip , and it's a solid suggestion. But, I would argue it's a touch pricey for what it is.

Good on day 1, much better after open 24 hrs. This wine needs 3-5 years, but if you need to drink now decant and open 4-5 hours before drinking.

The pellet was such a hit, followed it up with the kenefick. No notes as this was late in the night and well, you know it was late and a lot of wine had been consumed. 3 Mike Smith wines and they were all hits with a lot of “where can I get this” questions.

Lovely blue fruit accented by nice savory undertones of meat and dried herbs.

Happiness? Realizing this is in the cellar, the price paid was very reasonable and knowing the quality was there!

My notes are same as last time.

Sadness? Realizing I was impatient and this is my last 2014

Very nice Syrah. Blueberry and a bit of meatiness.

Opened far too early, but couldn't resist. My first experience here and all the good things I'd heard about Mike Smith wines have so far proved true. 3 hour decant and it was just getting started. Find many similarities between this and the Bevan Syrah's I've had. Excellent structure and likely will improve significantly over the next 24 hours....and 2-4 years.
