Deep ruby red with a purplish hue. Less fruit than prior tasting. Lots of black olives on the nose with a touch of caramel, followed up by roasted meats and purple flowers. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) yet rounded with a full body. Layered palate with a good amount of oak influence. A bit smoky with olives, blackberries, spices and a some more juicy black fruits as it aged with dark spice undertones. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2025.

A baby way too young. Give it 2+ years.

My Quivet syrahs don’t usually make it long enough to have this kind of bottle age, but I may need to hold a few back going forward. Tremendous effort here and an easy 3-5 years ahead of it.

Something was definitely off with the first bottle last night. We did finish it off though. Followed it up by PnPing the same wine which was a much better experience. Much more expressive and complex.

Very deep color, with a purple rim. Intense nose of blackberries, spice, black pepper and roasted meat. Same profile on the palate, with additional herbal component (Rosemary?). Very smooth body, with good tannins and long finish. Another great effort by Mike Smith. Drinks great now but could age further.

Probably needed more air but we were on a roll! @Mike Smith is the man. Wish our entire cellar was full of his wine!
