Decided to pop one of these on the eve of our evacuation from the Carmel fire in California. Beautiful color! Notes of coffee and mocha with dark plum and cassis. The nose gets beautifully candied with terschiary aromas of smoldering madrone wood, tobacco and cedar. I can’t believe how amazing this is at 30+ years old and less expensive than the current vintage.
