Traditional Chianti Classico from a producer I was not familiar with. Extended oak aging for this wine results in a fairly developed, mature wine with slight browning on the rim. The wine was full of red cherry fruit, black plum, licorice, dried Tuscan herbs, tobacco, dusty top soil, warm leather and spice. After a short decant the aroma blew me away on this wine. The nose wasn’t as pronounced on night two, but it was much more integrated. Really surprising and delicious Chianti Classico Riserva at an affordable price.
