This Friday I am trying a Barbaresco. The nose was difficult at first but then opened up after a little time. On the nose I got licorice, dark plum, tar, hints of violets and loamy soil. On first sip this wine was soft and silky up front then very acidic with chewy tannins in the mid palate, blackberry, plum with a medium + finish. Can use another 5 years in cellar for it's true self to come out.

Bright, still a tad young, but with no decant, clear light to medium bodied nebbiolo. Cherry and floral nose notes, nicely approachable, very solid.
