Delightfully funky in that distinctly Portuguese way. Perfectly balanced and about as “interesting” as you can get for $13 without using the word euphemistically. The label recommends pork or chicken. Honey glazed tofu worked for us, but stewed oxtail did not.

Medium ruby; medium intensity aromas of blackberry, blueberry, red plum, dried black plum, pomegranate, intense, vanilla, clove; dry, medium plus acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, ripe and dried black fruit with some tartness and sweet oak flavors, well balanced, very good

Can’t quite get over the staggering QPR of this 2016 Dão. With autumn just around the corner, this deliciously fresh and elegant every day wine may well be my go-to-red. (Oh, the cost? $9!!!)

Really nice, well balanced. Bold but heavy ripe fruity notes. Too much for pizza, but perfect to drink alone
