Tarry notes with menthol and liquorice. Highly savoury medium weight palate - no fruit descriptors except dried fruit finishing with fine grained powdery persistent tannins and M minus acid. I think the tannins in Nebbiolo never actually resolve or meld - with age they get finer but they are always there. Good Barolo needs at least 20 years and for good Barbaresco you might get away with 15 years I reckon. This wine probably could have done with a couple more years. Made for food - in this case pork steaks.

Still improving. But tannins have mellowed and now drinkable. Lots of spice and brash, complex dark fruit, especially plum.

Incredibly organic! Meaty (beef jerky) and mushroom aromas and flavors with faint hints of black licorice and dried cherries. Supple and polished with silky smooth tannins. An elegant Old World wine. Time has been very good to this one!

Nice rio sordo. Showing well w a long double decant. On the darker end of the Nebbiolo spectrum.

Surprised how fast this one opened up after decanting. Much more approachable after just 10 minutes. Great ruby red color with tons of earth on the nose. Getting medium tannins that mellow nicely after decanting. Dark red fruits, some mushroom, more earth and a touch of tobacco.
